Drive through the stunningly beautiful San Francisco Pass (altitude 4,748 metres), past the highest volcano on Earth, Navado Ojos del Salado (6,893 metres). Border crossing from Argentina into Chile. Drive to the amazingly beautiful, green shimmering Laguna Verde. Overnight camping.

Itinerary for the day Laguna Verde – Vicuna?. The route leads down the pass, beside several salt flats and along the famed Panamerican Highway, which in Chile is called Routa 5. Drive South to Vicuna, the main production centre of the Chilean national beverage, Pisco. Visit to one of the fascinating observatories in the region. Overnight at a hotel in Vincuna.
