Day 3

 

Route for the day: Cusco – Nazca?. Familiarisation with vehicles and start of journey to the coast. The road leads through the Abra Huashuccasa Pass (altitude 4,300 metres) to the dry pampas region, site of the myth-enshrouded Nazca Lines. Overnight camping.

Day 4

 

Route for the day: Nazca – Colca Canyon. Long driving day on the famed Panamericana along the Pacific Coast, past the volcano Sabancaya to the second deepest canyon in the world, Colca Canyon. Evening meal together with hostel accommodation right next to the canyon.

Day 5

 

Route for the day: Colca – Lake Titicaca?. Drive on gravel roads through the Andes to the largest lake in South America, which is also the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. Camping on the lakeshore

Day 6

 

Route for the day: Lake Titicaca – La Paz
Drive along the shores of Lake Titicaca. Border crossing from Peru into Bolivia. Journey onward across the El Alto plateau to the "witches' cauldron" La Paz, Bolivia's seat of government. Evening meal together and hotel accommodation.
