This leg begins with a tranquil ferry excursion on the River Amazon. From Brazil, the tour crosses into French Guyana. A visit to the French spaceport is planned. The densely forested Amazon Delta reveals the amazing diversity of the plant and animal life for which it is home. XWORLD travels across Suriname and Guyana, the two smallest countries on the continent.

Ferry trip on the Amazonia highways – as the rivers are called here. The participants and their six vehicles embark on a simple ferry boat for a 30-36 hour cruise on the rivers of the Amazon Basin. Crossing the Equator just outside of Macapá in the Amazon Delta. Overnight at a hotel in Macapá.
