Route for the day: Ushuaia – Povenir?. Drive beside the Beagle Channel, through Tierra del Fuego to Lake Fagnano. Visit a sheep ranch near the Rio Grande. Drive through the Sierra de Carmen. Border crossing from Argentina into Chile and onward journey to the Strait of Magellan at Povenir. Camping in Tierra del Fuego, close to Povenir.

Route for the day: Povenir – Punta Arenas?. Cross the notorious Strait of Magellan from Povenir to Punta Arenas. The ferry crossing takes about 2 hours. Drive South along the Strait of Magellan to to the reconstructed Fuerte Bulnes fortress. Overnight accommodation in a hotel in Punta Arenas.

Route for the day: Punta Arenas – Torres del Paine National Park. Drive on initially asphalted roads to the former fishing port of Puerto Natales. After this town, the road becomes gravel and continues to the Milodon Caves. Short sightseeing stop, then the drive contineus to the famous Torres del Paine National Park. Camping overnight in the national park.
