Route for the day: Trinidad – Coroico?. Drive through the rainforest of the Amazon Basin to the notorious Yungas, where forested cliffs alternate with cloud-filled ravines and subtropical valleys. All kinds of fruit, coffee, and especially coca plantations can be seen here. Evening meal together and hotel accommodation in Coroico.

Route for the day: Coroico – La Paz?. Drive up to La Paz on the most dangerous road in the world. The road climbs (or descends) 3,000 metres in 80 kilometres. Cross the 4,600 metre high La Cumbre Pass towards the La Paz Witches' Cauldron. Afternoon free. Evening meal together and hotel accommodation.

Route for the day: La Paz – Salar Suire. Drive through Patacamaya and then beside the first national park in Bolivia the Parque Nacional Sajama. From here, Bolivia's highest point can be seen, the Sajama Volcano (6,542 metres). Border crossing from Bolivia into Chile. Drive through the Lauca National Park on gravel trails to the hot springs at the Salar de Suire. Overnight camping at an altitude of just under 4,000 metres.
