Drive through the stunning landscape of the extreme reaches of the Chicas mountain range, with its bizarre rock formations, cactus forests, and deep ravines, to the largest salt flat in the world, Salar de Uyuni. Onward journey to Potosí. Overnight accommodation in hotel.

Route for the day: Potosí – Samaipata?. In the morning, sightseeing tour of the silver mine at Potosí. Onward journey through Sucre and down towards the Bolivian Lowlands as far as Samaipata. Sightseeing at the Inca ruins of El Fuerte. Overnight camping.

Route for the day: Samaipata – Trinidad?. Drive through the Bolivian Lowlands, past the ruins of 17th century missions from where Jesuit missionaries converted the inhabitants, and then to the Amazon Basin, an enormous region of primeval rainforest and savannah. Evening meal together and hotel accommodation in Trinidad.
