Route for the day: Recife – Touros?
Travel through the small state of Paraíba, past the easternmost point of the continent at Ponta do Seixas, along the beautiful coastal road through ancient fishing villages and sandy beaches bordered with palm trees to Touros. Overnight camping.

Route for the day: Touros – Guaramiranga?
Travel through the semi-arid Sertão region, past cashew nut plantations and whitewashed mud huts. After lunch, drive into the interior, towards the Serra de Baturité hill range. Overnight hostel accommodation in the village of Guaramiranga.

Route for the day: Guaramiranga – Sete Cidades National Park
Drive on minor roads through the Cearás hinterland and the cool mountainous region with many cacti and palms to the Sete Cidades National Park. Overnight camp in the park.

Route for the day: Sete Cidades National Park – Lençóis Maranhenses National Park?
Return to the Atlantic Coast. Cross the Parnaíba River into the Piauí region. Onward journey to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, famous for its sand dunes and mangrove swamps. Overnight camp close to the park.
